Disaster for newbie like me!!!

October 12th, 2008 1 comment

Maybe this is the learning curve my previous blog and database are crashed. All came after I the idea that I want to change my blog location from root folder (public html) to /blog folder. I have backed up everything and follow step-by-step instruction found after I Google. No steps are successful. All I got are errors that I cannot resolve.

I try to restore my WordPress installation in the public html folder, but I got the error said that the same script is alrady installed in the folder, so I cannot installed my WordPress in other folder. What to do? I have to installed my WordPress in /blog folder and then I lost all my previous post in this blog.

I still have the backed up version of the database with pointing to http://shafawi.com and also the version which I update all the post info to http://shafawi.com/blog. I try to append the the updated one into my new WordPress database. Error return, and I couldn’t save it.

Anybody can help me to restore my previous post? Your help is very much appreciated.

Thank you,
Shafawi
