Alhamdulillah akhirnya selesai sudah masalah yang menghantui aku lebih dari sebulan. Semua blog aku di hosting berkenaan telah pulih seperti sediakala. Comment section telah muncul dan aku amat gembira. Masalah ini memang mempengaruhi aktiviti blogging aku kerana sebelum ini aku baru sahaja berpindah ke hosting berkenaan. Selesai berpindah hosting aku ingatkan tak ada masalah, tetapi selepas beberapa hari baru aku menyedarinya.
Semalam masalah “Comments are Closed” telah berjaya diselesaikan oleh team support Jomhosting. Berikut adalah conversation trails dengan team support mereka.

I am encounter “Comments are closed” problem in all my Wordpress blog hosting in Jomhosting started in early June. Until now I still couldn’t figure out the problem.
I have checked the setting in Setting> Discussion and it is fine. I also checked comment setting in each post which is also fine.
This morning I set up one new blog with Wordpress 2.92. The same thing happen.

masalah ini disebabkan memory limit bagi akaun anda, kami telahpun meningkatkan limit tersebut.

- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Done. Not work.
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Done. Not work.
- re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress? Done. Not work.
This morning I installing Wordpress 2.9.2 through Fantastico in for my new blog. Unfortunately, it face the same problem.
This morning I contacted my hosting provider if they can help.

Memang aku ada hosting lain tetapi aku baru sahaja pindahkan 3 blog ke dari hosting lama ke hosting sekarang.
Di hosting sekarang, saya host 6 domain (unlimited domain). Semua adalah blog. Kesemua blog tersebut menghadapi masalah yang sama.
Di hosting lama masih ada 3 blog. Di situ tidak ada masalah kecuali hosting tersebut selalu down dan slow. 3 blog tersebut saya masih gunakan wordpress 2.9.2
Boleh jadi masalah hosting dan saya dah submit trouble ticket padi tadi.

Dalam bulan lepas, aku telah memindahkan tiga blog aku ke sebuah hosting baru. Aku fikir semuanya perfect sehingga aku mengenalpasti ada dua masalah yang melanda setelah aku memindahkan blog-blog tersebut.
Hampir sebulan aku terperangkap dalam problem ini. Berikut adalah problemnya:
Tidak boleh upload media (image, video etc) ke server
Mula-mula aku fikir ini adalah masalah dari segi permission kerana error yang diterima adalah berkenaan permission. Namun yang peliknya Wordpress error tersebut menyatakan media uploads path masih berada di server lama.
Akhirnya saudara Smartzul telah memberikan idea untuk aku check bahagian media setting. Jika anda menggunakan Wordpress 3.0,
- Pergi ke Setting>Media
- Pada bahagian Uploading Files masukkan path upload folder di Store uploads in this folder
- Save Changes
Alhamdulillah selesai masalah.
‘Comments closed’
Di ketiga-tiga blog aku yang telah dipindahkan, semua comments section untuk post-post terbaru tiada. Hanya tertulis di bawah post tersebut “Comments closed”. Bermakna tiada comments section. Implikasinya pelawat blog tidak dapat memberi comments kepada post-post aku.
Namun, pada post-post lama (post sebelum aku pindah hosting), masih ada lagi comments section tersebut. Comments pelawat juga masih ada. Setting pada Discussion section juga telah aku check berkali-kali. Begitu juga setting pada individual post. Tak tahu la kalau terlepas pandang.
Kecik kepala juga memikirkan perkara ini. Telah aku godek Pakcik Google tetapi masih belum berhasil.
Jadi sesiapa yang punya idea bolehlah kongsikan ye. Bermula dengan idea, mungkin ada hasilnya nanti.

I try to find a non hassle way to upgrade the WordPress blog to newer version.
1. Set an upgrade checklist
2. Backup WordPress blog’s database
3. Backup WordPress file and folder and other file
4. Ensure all databases and files are backed up and usable
5. Deactivate plugins
6. Ensure all step above before move on
7. Download new WordPress in http://wordpress.org/download/
8. Delete all files and folder in WordPress except for
- wp-config.php
- wp-content folder (folder /cache in wp-content need to be deleted)
- folder wp-images
- folder wp-includes/language (delete all file and folder in wp-includes)
- .htaccess file
- robot.txt
9. Upload all new WordPress files to WordPress folder in the server.
10. After uploading, upgrade blog in http://YOURURL/wp-admin/upgrade.php and follow the steps.
11. Activate all plugins and make sure all are usable.
12. Make sure upgraded blog fully functional and error free.
You can upgrade through Fantastico if you have one. Ensure first five steps are follow, log in to CPanel and Fantastico and just follow the instruction to upgrade WordPress blog.
