Spam oleh Irfan Khairi!!!

Posted by  in November 19th 2008

mempromosikan program reseller ala-ala mencari downline.

(mungkin anda pernah terkena!)
* membuat pelaburan yang jelas merugikan (seperti beli rumah
untuk disewa di kawasan tiada permintaan)
* tertipu dengan program-program Inetrnet atau dikenali sebagai
SCAM

Formula ini berbunyi: NO SCAM!

N-O S-C-A-M

N bermaksud: NAME.

O bermaksud: OVER PROMISE.

OVER PROMISE.

A bermaksud: ASK.

Tanya orang ramai.

M bermaksud: MAKE SURE!

Adakah anda melakukan segalanya sebelum
terkena SCAM tersebut?

* N - NAME
* O - OVER PROMISE
* S - SEARCH
* C - CONTACT
* A - ASK
* M - MAKE SURE!

Web 2.0: The new revolution of Internet

Posted by  in November 4th 2008
By Asmawati Shahabudin

Have you heard about the term Web 2.0? Probably most Internet users nowadays not realize that they have move one step forward in the Internet revolution call Web 2.0. In the early days of dot com burst, they used to call it World Wide Web as Web 1.0 and after that to differentiate the phenomenon of ich Internet application they use one more term called Web 2.0.

THE DEFINITION

The term became notable after the first O’Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004. According to Tim O’Reilly Web 2.0 is the business revolution in computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.

Web 2.0 looks like a new adaptation of the World Wide Web, but it does not change the technical specifications of it, but it changes how software developers and end-users utilized the Web.

Terry Flew, in his 3rd Edition of New Media described the differences between previous Web and Web 2.0 as move from personal websites to blogs and blog site aggregation, from publishing to participation, from web content as the outcome of large up-front investment to an ongoing and interactive process, and from content management systems to links based on tagging (folksonomy).

The change from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 can be seen as a result of technological refinements, which included such adaptations as “broadband, improved browsers, and Ajax, to the rise of Flash application platforms and the mass development of wigetization, such as Flickr and YouTube badges” [1]

Just imagine during personal web pages were very popular in the early days of Web, and these consisted of mainly static pages hosted on free hosting services such as Geocities. Nowadays, dynamically generated blogs and social networking, such as Facebook, You Tube and Flickr, are more popular, allowing for readers to comment on posts in a way that was not available during Web 1.0.

SOME DIFFERENCES

This some typical design elements of a Web 1.0 site include:

  • Static pages instead of dynamic user-generated content.
  • The use of framesets.
  • Proprietary HTML extensions such as the blink and marquee tags introduced during the first browser war.
  • Online guestbooks.
  • GIF buttons, typically 88×31 pixels in size promoting web browsers and other products.
  • HTML forms sent via email. A user would fill in a form, and upon clicking submit their email client would attempt to send an email containing the form’s details.

According to Best [2] some characteristics of Web 2.0 are: rich user experience, user participation, dynamic content, metadata, web standards and scalability. Further characteristics, such as openness, freedom and collective intelligence by way of user participation, can also be viewed as essential attributes of Web 2.0.

CONCLUSION

Web 2.0 is social and let user control the data and information. Web 2.0 is about new interfaces - new ways of searching and accessing Web content. And last but not least, Web 2.0 is a platform - and not just for developers to create web applications like Gmail and Flickr. The Web is a platform to build on for educators, media, politics, community, for virtually everyone in fact!

Web 2.0 is all of the above things - don’t let anyone tell you it’s one or the other definition. Web 2.0 is about the people, when it comes down to it. So it has to be inclusive. The definitions of technologists, social scientists, web designers, philosophers, educators, business people, anybody - they all count.

Make PC Searchable

Posted by  in October 22nd 2008

I face this problem almost everyday when I work with ton of data. Sometimes I could not remember where I put my file and folder. Day after day the data increase, and the primary problem is finding what I need when I need it. Sometimes I feel that it is easier to find information online rather than in our own PC. Luckily, now our PC is equipped with search tools that make our drives accessible with no hassle.

Let’s take a look on what tools that can make your PC search friendly. And, you need to know how to optimize it for faster search.

In Windows Vista
If you need comprehensive searching tool, this is one reason why you should consider changing to Windows Vista. In Windows Vista, the search function is almost everywhere; Start Menu, Windows Explorer, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer and etcetera.

This feature called by Microsoft as Instant Search. That’s mean Instant Search will gives you result almost in real time.

Open the Start Menu, type the first few letters of a program or file you are searching, and while typing the search result will appear the names of the programs and files that Vista thinks you are looking for.

Vista comes with comprehensive indexing service that runs in background almost every time since you first install the operating system. Instant Search not just indexes names of program and files but also the contents of files, email and visited web pages. Basically it is similar to Internet search engine and just about as effective.

In Windows XP
Earlier versions of Windows do not have Instant Search. In XP, user must using search option in the Start Menu or pressing Windows key plus F (Windows + F = Find). It will take much longer and searching must be specified with file name.

Microsoft then comes out with Windows Desktop Search (www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch) to Windows XP users. By using this tool you can speed up your search.

Latest version of WDS, 3.0.1 is designed for Win XP SP2, Win Server 2003 and Win XP 64-bit.

Other tools

Google’s Desktop Search (http://desktop.google.com) and Yahoo! Desktop Search (http://desktop.yahoo.com) still on top and they support Linux and Mac. Most important they give it for free.

Internet Marketer Do’s and Don’t

Posted by  in October 22nd 2008

For newbie like me, there is a lot of do’s and don’t. Here is the list what I should do and what shouldn’t. I got this from Malaysia Internet Marketer who has more than 3 years experience as in online business.

Do’s

  1. Learn HTML basic. Nowadays, I believe it is not difficult to create website or blog; no more hard coding. However you still need basic foundation on how to put advertisement or editing your themes. Many newbie jumps into internet business without knowing this basic knowledge.
  2. Reading. For bloggers, reading will expand and enhance their knowledge give ideas to write valuable articles. We can read newspapers, magazine or blog.
  3. Expand source of income. Don’t ever rely on one source of income only. Everyday we should research and discover new source of income. This is why great IM sustain in their business.
  4. Join dedicated forum for IM. Join established forum such as Digital Points where we can built our credibility there and expand our network.
  5. Trial and error to learn. It is one of the learning method to whom has no teacher or instructor. We will learn new thing when we try something new. We experience it and learn from the mistake. Don’t be afraid to make mistake.

Don’t

  1. Give up. In any job, nothing is free. Success not comes for free. We have to sacrifice our time and effort to success. Many newbie thinks we can get money easily from Internet. Many entrepreneurs loss first, before making money through Internet.
  2. Begging. Meaning that don’t ever want something for free. Learn first by finding the source in the blog, forum or e-book. Worst case scenario, then try to ask the expertise.
  3. Put weaknesses as obstacle. Every people have weaknesses. Many IM don’t have expertise in graphic design, programming or writing but they can still generate many incomes from Internet. The fact is, learning to fill the gap of our weaknesses.
  4. Share you personal problem. Share your problem in the forums is not a good way to do. Many don’t care about us and they are not close to us. Many will response it negatively if we do that.
  5. Hide your indentity. We need to be transparent to all. Show yourself to prospective buyer. Give your name, address and picture.
